Biography

Ally moved to The Netherlands in 2013 from Singapore where she was working for an IT company as a sales support associate reporting directly to the Director of Sales and the Head of Managed Services. After which, she joined United Overseas Bank, one of the major banks in Singapore with a well-established global presence in Asia, assisting the VP for Technology Division. Prior to working in Singapore, she was based in Dubai for 4.5 years and worked at the largest electronics store in the United Arab Emirates.

Ally finds that understanding other people’s cultural backgrounds and developing multicultural communication skills are essential to creating a good working environment, and achieving good job performance. Working in a multi-cultural setting with different social dimensions is something Ally finds rewarding and fulfilling professionally, while expanding her horizons and cultural awareness, learning to adapt and compromise. She finds it enormously important to accept differences in behavior, perception, cognition and ways of communication among colleagues from different cultural backgrounds.
