Kizito is a Programmes Officer based at the Africa Regional Office in Nairobi. He provides technical support in the conservation and management of Africaâ€™s water resources; and in developing the capacities of water service providers to improve the quality of their service provision through improved governance and management of their utilities. He is currently working with various utilities around Africa on water quality projects, specifically in developing and implementing Water Safety Plans. He also coordinates the Africa Water Safety Planning Network.
Previously, Kizito worked as a Project Officer with the Tropical Biology Association where he built expertise in biodiversity conservation and research through field courses in biology and specialist skills workshops. He then joined the United Nations Environment Programme as an Assistant Programme Officer under the UN Volunteers Programme where he worked with the Global Programme of Action for the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-based Activities (UNEP â€“ GPA).
Kizito holds a Master of Science in Natural Resources Management from Egerton University, Kenya.
