Navigating the ‘New Normal”

Dhesigen Naidoo, Water Research Commission, South Africa, describes a new world order of extreme weather events globally, a rise in population and consumption, and the commitment to reach the Sustainable Development Goals. This means organising for new solutions like desalination, recycling at scale, aquifer recharge, etc. The solutions can only be reached within a Nexus logic to provide security and remove the economic risk of water management. This has to be done in a collective fashion amongst the worlds countries. This is the future, and this is all possible within the next 20 years.
