In light of the growing demand for resource recovery and reuse alternatives, pollution control and waste management in agro-industries has consistently been a top research priority. The need for innovative solutions to these challenges requires an integrative approach to emerging technologies. This has led to the successful Agro Symposia series since 1989, which has attracted scientists, industry leaders, and authorities.

The “12th IWA International Symposium on Waste Management Problems in Agro-Industries” will be held in İstanbul, Türkiye (Turkey), a fascinating historical city, for the first time in many years. The event will be organized by Prof. Işık Kabdaşlı and Prof. Taku Fujiwara, who will serve as co-chairs. The IWA Agro-Symposia has made a substantial impact, offering a valuable platform for the dissemination of knowledge on cutting-edge scientific and technical solutions and fostering a comprehensive network of experts in the field.

The upcoming symposium will also be an exciting scientific event covering a wide range of topics, from conventional physico-chemical and biological treatment applications to climate change mitigation and adaptation. Of particular interest will be the focus on circular economy, life cycle assessment, resource recovery, and waste valorization applications within the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus. We anticipate that the upcoming AGRO’2025 will attract numerous researchers, industry leaders, and authorities from around the world, following the proven success of previous Agro Symposia.
